Overview
Erik Manukyan is a class action litigator who focuses his practice on privacy and consumer protection disputes. He represents companies in high-stakes class actions and mass arbitrations involving cutting-edge data privacy and technology issues, with experience defending claims brought under the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA), the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA), the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), and analogous privacy and consumer protection laws.
In addition to defending clients through all phases of litigation, he works closely with clients to develop practical, business-oriented strategies for managing privacy risk while continuing to innovate.
Erik received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was principal senior editor of the National Security Journal. While in law school, Erik served as co-president of the Armenian Law Students Association and was a student contributor for Lawfare, publishing on cybersecurity and consumer privacy issues. Erik received his B.A. summa cum laude in political science from UCLA.
